Latest Live News Updates: Piyush Goyal takes charge of Ministry of Textiles

Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs and Food & Public Distribution, Piyush Goyal on Thursday took charge of the Ministry of Textiles from Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Smriti Zubin Irani. The Minister of State for Textiles, Darshana Vikram Jardosh also took charge, on Thursday.
Addressing the media after taking charge, Goyal thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving him this opportunity. He also praised his predecessor, and said a lot of good work has been done in the textiles ministry during her tenure and as a result, its profile has increased manifold in recent years.
